MARKETING PROGRAM MANAGER

Position Summary

As the Marketing Program Manager you will develop and manage a team of Marketing Specialists to identify potential partnerships with key influencers in the chef community, as well as those leaders living a raw, vegan or vegetarian lifestyle. Engage in communicating the Vitamix message to these individuals, groups, and organizations by researching and developing new marketing channels, forming partnerships and alliances, researching opportunities and special programs to promote and sell the brand values and household product line. This position requires approximately 35% travel.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop marketing special program plan each year to identify and target key influencers in Vitamix's key segment groups.
  • Manage staff of Marketing Specialists to help them achieve marketing program goals of increased Vitamix brand exposure and preference amongst targeted influencers.
  • Manage budget for sponsorships, public and media relations and advertising to achieve strategic objectives and to establish Vitamix as the blending authority.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with culinary leaders such as chefs, celebrities, authors and well-known foodies.
  • Plan and direct development and communication of informational programs to maintain favorable public perceptions of the organization's accomplishments and agenda.
  • Engage internal or external creative groups to produce special event or program advertisements and promotions.
  • Arrange public appearances, lectures, or exhibits to communicate the Vitamix message through product demonstration, speaking, presentation opportunities, and media pieces.
  • Own the research and communication of culinary and pop culture trends and key group interests and concerns to provide point of view on potential opportunities.
  • Seek and create strategic programs with key organizations and corporations that will generate national and long term sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to share and manage the budget for special interest events, programs, initiatives and donations.
  • Create, measure and track metrics for success of campaign initiatives, both tangible and intangible, communicating progress of projects to vested internal customers.
  • Set up Special Interest Groups to go through already existing marketing channels; transitioning as needed; i.e. Affiliate, Show or Internet.
  • Propose, research and assist in the development of support material to be used for web, direct marketing, bill of material, and other marketing channels to support special marketing program needs.
  • Travel to, attend and/or demonstrate at conventions and conferences sponsored by special interest groups when deemed appropriate.
  • Create training materials, and if need be train in person, special interest groups on how to promote, market and sell Vitamix products.
  • Establish and manage criteria and process for donation requests.

Position Qualifications

  • Enthusiastic - Ability to bring energy to the performance of a task.
  • Culinary - Strong interest or experience in food marketing, culinary arts, food programming and/or connections to the foodie community.
  • Health & Wellness - Ability to communicate the importance of health & wellness through personal convictions.
  • Motivation - Ability to inspire oneself and others to reach a goal and/or perform to the best of their ability.
  • Presentation Skills - Ability to effectively present information publicly.
  • Relationship Building - Ability to effectively build relationships with customers and co-workers.
  • Research Skills - Ability to design and conduct a systematic, objective, and critical investigation.
  • Sales Ability - Ability to use appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to gain acceptance of a product, service, or idea.

Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's Degree (four year college or university), Master's degree preferred. 7 years experience in marketing, food industry marketing, new business development management with 3 years as manager.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite
