New Vita-Mix 5200 High Performance Blender Provides
BPA-free Food Preparation
New Motor and Shatterproof Container Put a Powerful New Spin On Whole Foods
OLMSTED FALLS, OH – April 25, 2008 – Vita-Mix Corporation is proud to announce that their newest household machine, the Vita-Mix 5200, introduces a container made of Tritan™ copolyester. This new material from the Eastman Chemical Company is not only shatterproof but also BPA-free.
Vita-Mix is the first company to use the new-generation copolyester in a kitchen appliance. The company chose to use Tritan because of its superior durability and sound-damping properties, but can now offer consumers a container that is free of BPA (bisphenol-A) content.
Scientific research reviewed by government and health agencies confirms that products containing BPA are safe for consumer use unless heated to high temperatures or exposed to non-food chemicals, such as commercial detergents, for extended periods of time. Vita-Mix chose to stay ahead of the industry by introducing the BPA-free Tritan container in their new Vita-Mix 5200.
The 5200 also contains a more efficient 2 peak HP motor so that whole foods aren’t just blended; they are pulverized – seeds, stems, skin and all. By rupturing cell walls and creating more surface area, the Vita-Mix releases the full bioavailability - and flavor - of what you put in it, making it the ultimate whole food machine.
“The Vita-Mix 5200 adheres to our founder’s vision of producing the most advanced appliance on the market,” explains John Barnard, CEO of Vita-Mix Corporation. “Vita-Mix is proud to offer a product that goes well beyond what is expected from a conventional blender.”
“Our partnership with Vita-Mix represents one of the very first commercial uses of our innovative new material,” adds Mark C. Plemmons, Tritan™ Sales Launch Manager, Specialty Plastics Business Organization, Eastman Chemical Company. “We feel our new Eastman Tritan™ copolyester will differentiate Vita-Mix in the marketplace and reinforce the company’s position as a true industry innovator.”
