VITA-MIX® CELEBRATES RIBBON CUTTING WITH OHIO HOUSE REPRESENTATIVE TOM PATTON

Cleveland, Ohio - May 20, 2004 - The Vita-Mix Corporation will be celebrating the company's corporate expansion project with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new 63,000 square foot facility at the Vita-Mix world headquarters on Thursday, May 20, 2004 at 9:15 AM.

Guest speaker for the ceremony will be Ohio House Representative, Tom Patton. He will be speaking on the importance of companies, such as Vita-Mix, growing and continuing to invest in Cleveland to develop a stronger economy in Ohio.

Vita-Mix President, John Barnard, is the third generation family member of a company which builds and markets innovative kitchen solutions and the world's highest valued blender products. This company with its rich history dating back 83 years has been located in Olmsted Township since 1948. "This new facility along with our dedicated skilled employees, great suppliers, elite world wide representatives and dealer partners will facilitate Vita-Mix's continued growth in both sales and product leadership," says Barnard. He will speak on the growth from the first infomercial in history, back in 1949, to being in the majority of the top twenty-five chain restaurants. In addition, Barnard is being honored at this event for being a finalist in the 2004 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Award.

Jodi Berg, Director of Sales and Marketing will speak on the growth of Vita-Mix as a marketer and manufacture of high quality kitchen equipment. Berg plans to share the importance of the new facility meeting the needs of chain restaurants, nightclubs and bars, smoothie and coffee shops needs around the world. "This is only possible due to the long term relationships with representatives and distributors from around the world. Fifty-five of our international partners will be here for this event," says Berg. The ceremony is to celebrate the new facility built to accommodate Vita-Mix's growing business and additional 12% in staff for this year.

Media tour is at 9:15 AM followed by speakers and Ribbon Cutting at 10 AM. Brunch will be served at 10:30 AM.
