Vita-Mix Sponsors Two Runners’ Record-Breaking Attempt Across the U.S.

OLMSTED FALLS, OH – Vita-Mix Corporation, the leading manufacturer of high quality blending equipment, today announces sponsorship of the upcoming event and feature documentary, Running America. This follow up to Running the Sahara is being filmed September and October of 2008 and will raise awareness of childhood obesity. It will chronicle ultra distance marathon runners Charlie Engle and Marshall Ulrich as they run from San Francisco to New York City in an attempt to break the world record. 

Beginning September 13th, the runners will simultaneously attempt to run about 70 miles per day for 45 days straight. Throughout the grueling 3,200 mile marathon, Vita-Mix will provide the runners with super-nutritious smoothies to keep them at peak performance and welcome them at the finish line in New York City. The runners won’t have to take unnecessary chew breaks or sacrifice their performance; high-energy foods that are rich in nutrients and blended in the Vita-Mix can be consumed on the way and easily digested.
