Writer's Guidelines
We are looking for inspirational stories written by people from all walks of life, that highlight what Vitamix has enabled you to do. Many of our existing stories range from improved health and vitality, to the ability to follow a dream—because of how Vitamix has empowered or inspired your life.
The top 50 winning stories will be included in a beautiful, four-color keepsake book, Vitamix Inspires!, to commemorate and celebrate the 90th Anniversary of Vitamix. If your story is selected, you will be a published author and receive a free copy of this inspirational coffee table book. Additional stories not selected for the book may be used on our Vitamix.com website or as a part of our Vita-Village.
The typical Vitamix story is a first-person narrative, written in simple, dramatic anecdotal style.
Here are some important tips to consider when writing your story:
Keep it personal and focused. Don't try to share the story of your life. While we'd love to know more about you, we have a very limited amount of space and therefore ask that you focus on one specific way that Vitamix has inspired you. The emphasis should be on one individual and their personal experience with either the Vitamix machine or the company in general.
Include the end of the story too! Please don't leave unanswered questions. Give us enough facts so that the reader will know what happened and be sure to include an end. Be as descriptive as possible to make the reader feel like they are there. Inspire us with how the person or situation was changed for the better- because of Vitamix.
Keep it real. We're looking for first-person inspirational stories, so please only write non-fiction stories from personal experience.
That's it! When you're ready, please submit your story on-line. While we will not change the meaning of the story, Vitamix may edit your submission for proper spelling, grammar or length. Please understand that due to the volume anticipated, not all stories submitted will be published or posted on the site.
Stories are limited to a 1000 words. Also note, you must be 18 years of age or older to submit a story.
Due to the high volume of submissions, you will only be notified if your article has been accepted for publication in our 90th Anniversary Keepsake book, or on our website.
