I never heard of Vitamix until I met Craig. While I was working at my first job out of college, Craig decided to seek me out one day in my cubicle. He had seen me in the hallway and decided I was a girl he wanted to get to know better. I was in another relationship at the time, so I didn’t give him the time of day. Craig was persistent and often stopped in to chat.

One day he talked about this fabulous “Vitamix Pizza” that he liked to make and proceeded to tell me all about this amazing machine. He offered to make me one of his famous pizzas. He also said that when he went through a divorce a few years back, the only thing he wanted from his marriage was the Vitamix (and yes, the Vitamix is in his divorce documents!)

Eventually I caved in to Craig’s persistence and my own curiosity about this pizza and agreed to go to his house for a “Vitamix” date. I watched him grind wheat in this silver contraption with a spigot. He then made the dough, sauce, and chopped veggies. Let me say, it took forever, but that’s when it dawned on me that this was the first time he had made this Vitamix pizza. That was also the last time he made the Vitamix pizza, as we soon began dating and I took over the Vitamix duties.

We eventually married and for our anniversary one year, Craig upgraded the Vitamix from the stainless steel model to the Vitamix 5200. As much as I loved the vintage Vitamix, the new one kicked butt! Nineteen years and three kids later, our family still uses our Vitamix every day.

Every time we see a Vitamix demonstration, Craig and I both get sentimental. We often have to stop and sample the soup or smoothie. Craig starts reminiscing and eventually shares his Vitamix story with the people around him, telling them how it helped him meet and marry the girl of his dreams. Thanks, Vitamix!
