Basic Fruit Smoothie
With just three simple ingredients, this thick and creamy smoothie is a great way to join the smoothie revolution.
- 1 cup (240 ml) soy milk
- 1/2 medium banana, peeled
- 1 thick slice pineapple (80 g) with core, halved
- Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure lid.
- Select Variable 1.
- Turn machine on and slowly increase speed to Variable 10, then to High.
- Blend for 25-30 seconds or until desired consistency is reached. Serve Immediately.
This recipe has been written for the C-Series machines with Variable Speed control and Standard 64-ounce container. If you are using a different Vitamix machine or container size, you may need to make adjustments to the Variable Speed, processing time, and/or ingredient quantities.

The recipe I like is: 1 peach (2 if small) 1-2 plums (depending on size) Triple berries, frozen (a cup or so if you insist on measuring) Strawberries, frozen (optional - less than a cup, if you insist ...) (Banana, I don't like 'em in a smoothie, but if you'd like, fine) 1 6oz container of yogurt (because I can't find 8oz any more) Orange juice (enough so that it's up to the top of the fruit) Mix, slow to high, until it's done. Makes enough to serve 2-3, or one of me. :-)

What flavor of soy milk can be used for this drink? I'm guessing that it doesn't matter, because it's not listed in the ingredients. Also can this be made in the Vitamix S30?
This recipe calls for plain soy milk, you can use any flavor you choose. Yes this recipe can be made in your S30.

What can I use in place of soy milk and pineapple?
You can use coconut/cashew/or almond milk, instead of pineapple you can use just about any fruit or peanut butter.I make my own coconut milk in my vita mix. You can get a gallon from one coconut. It's good in smoothies on cerial, or in your curries.do not use apple cores anytime,the pips contain arsenic.

You can use ice in the recipe if desired, you would just want to use 3/4 cup soy milk to 1/4 cup ice. Another option is to use 1/2 frozen banana instead of ice, and to use your tamper while blending.
