Ingredients

  • 15 ounces canned chick peas (garbanzos), drained
  • 15 ounces canned chick peas (garbanzos), with liquid
  • 0.25 cup (35 g) raw sesame seeds
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) lemon juice
  • 1 garlic clove, peeled
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt, to taste

Directions

  1. Place chick peas, sesame seeds, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and cumin into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure lid.
  2. Select Variable 1.
  3. Turn machine on and slowly increase speed to Variable 10, then to High.
  4. Blend 1 minute, using the tamper to push the ingredients into the blades.
  5. Season to taste with salt.

This recipe has been written for the C-Series machines with Variable Speed control and Standard 64-ounce container. If you are using a different Vitamix machine or container size, you may need to make adjustments to the Variable Speed, processing time, and/or ingredient quantities.
