Peanut Butter Mocha Frosty
Some flavors are meant to go together, like chocolate and peanut butter. And with protein powder and a hint of espresso, this dessert-like blend is the perfect way to start your day.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (240 ml) vanilla soy milk
- 2 Tablespoons instant espresso granules
- 2 Tablespoons (30 ml) chocolate syrup
- ¼ cup (20 g) chocolate whey protein powder
- 1 Tablespoon peanut butter
- 2 cups (260 g) ice cubes, divided use
Directions
- Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure lid.
- Select Variable 1.
- Turn machine on and slowly increase speed to Variable 10, then to High.
- Blend for 50 seconds, or until desired consistency is reached.
Chef's Notes
When blending protein powders, they sometimes stick to the sides of the container. To prevent this, place milk, espresso, syrup, peanut butter and ice to the container. Pour in the powder through the lid plug opening once the mixture has started to blend. This ensures the powder goes directly into the center of the mixture and doesn’t stick to the sides.

Great morning smoothie
I like to make this smoothie when I'm tired of the fruit veggie ones or want to use my protein powder. The only thing different I use is coffee and chocolate protein powders since I don't have instant espresso. I've added bananas when I have them on hand and top with whipped cream when I have that too. I really love how the Vitamix makes ice cube into the perfect slush there is never a chunk of ice like with all other blenders I've tried.

Healthy snack for chocolate cravings!
Delicious & super easy frosty! Didn't have exact ingredients, but easy to substitute with ingredients we had on hand. Used chocolate almond milk, vanilla rice protein powder, Dandy Blend herbal powder (for coffee flavor), cocoa powder, natural PB, & ice. Fabulous results!

Awesome tip!
I used this recipe as an inspiration to make my own version of blended coffee. I used chilled coffee, two TB of instant coffee, skinny coffee syrup, cinnamon and ice. Then, I used my chocolate protein and peanut butter powder to minimize the fat content. Well let me tell you, I have struggled with protein powder getting stuck on the sides before so when I saw the comment to turn the blender on and THEN add the powders, I was excited to try it. My blended coffee came out perfect and the blender was super easy to clean with no sticky residue at all! And of course the blended coffee was so yummy that my boyfriend drank much of it. So needless to say I will be making a second serving. Thanks for the tip. I can’t believe I’ve had this blender for two years and didn’t know to do that. It will be amazing for when I blended my super greens powder into nice cream. So happy about this!
