Margarita on the Rocks
Muddled orange, lemon, and lime create a refreshing citrus base for this cocktail version of the classic recipe.
Ingredients
- 3 ounces (80 ml) tequila
- 2 fluidounces (60 ml) Grand Marnier
- 2 ounces (60 ml) simple syrup
- 2 (¼-inch/ 6-mm) thick orange slices, cut in half
- 2 (¼-inch/ 6-mm) thick lemon slices, cut in half
- 2 (¼-inch/ 6-mm) thick lime slices
Directions
- Place tequila, Grand Marnier, simple syrup, orange, lemon, lime, and 3 cups (330 g) of the ice into the Vitamix container and secure the lid.
- Start the machine, slowly increase to its highest speed, and blend for 45 seconds.
- Divide the remaining 1 cup (110 g) of ice between 3 glasses and top with the blended mixture. Serve immediately.
Notes
Dies ist eine großartige alternative Version der köstlichen, aber typischen, gefrorenen Margarita für den Alltag. Wenn Sie einen stärkeren Cocktail mögen, verdoppeln Sie den Tequila.

Delicious!
An aside note: I just don't get how people completely change the recipe then write a review saying it was terrible. No, yours was, now try the recipe.

So refreshing!
I love this recipe. I wouldn't call it a classic margarita, but it's an excellent variation. All the citrus in it is very refreshing and tasty. I've made these several times. The first time I made it just as it said. It was great, but the next time, I did not add the ice because it was just for me and I didn't want to use it all at once, plus I wanted to strain all the pulp out of it. So I blended it and then took the extra step to shake it with ice. I do prefer it strained. The last time I made it with Agave nector. Just a note to anyone using this as a substitute....it is much sweeter than simple syrup. Use half the amount (at most) that is called for.

Loved it!
The best margarita I have ever had! The AER container makes the perfect margarita - fresh citrus juice with small flecks of fruit, mixed with tequila and Grand Marnier. I used agave tequila (not reposado) and the flavor was perfect.

Better than the whole fruit marg if possible!
I replaced grapefruit slices for the oranges because thats what I had on hand, and it was phenomenal! Even made the simple syrup in using the Aer Disc, and it was a breeze. Love my Vitamix!!!

Excellent Margaritas!
Received the Aer Container for Xmas, first recipe we tried, and have made it several times, and absolutely love it. Fresh citrus taste! Followed the recipe, and wouldn’t make any changes. Best Margaritas Ever, In my opinion.

Really easy!
I was very impressed with how completely the fruit was muddled. The margarita was delicious, and didn’t have that awful artificial flavor you get with a mix.

Way too sweet
This tasted like alcoholic party punch. We hated it. Too sweet and not tequila-forward. We modified quite a bit, used agave instead of simple syrup, threw a bunch of citrus in the Aer disc container, and did about 5 shots of tequila to 2 shots of orange liqueur. I should have known relying on an actual recipe to make a margarita is pretty silly. It’s like guacamole... just figure it out. All the rave reviews here must be from people who like really sweet drinks. We weren’t fans at all. Mom even said, “It tastes ok but it doesn’t taste like a margarita.” So there you have it.
