48-ounce/ 1.4-litre Dry Grains Container with SELF-DETECT™ is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 68.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from So sad that I got an unnecessary extra container just purchased a Vitamix A3500 and got the Dry Grains container with the specific purpose of being able to use my blender to make pizza dough and fresh pasta. Now I see that there's a recipe in the Vitamix website (https://www.vitamix.com/us/en_us/Recipes/Pizza) that shows the option to use the 64 oz container that comes with the blender. I felt that I had to purchase an extra accessory to be able to use the blender for certain tasks and that was not necessarily true. Had there been full disclosure on the product's description, I would've chosen the 48 oz wet blade instead (which I wanted, but was not able to afford due to purchasing other accessories).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! I use it to grind grains for bread, so amazing! Does a significantly better job then my old none vitamix blender. I don’t even have to sift because it does such a great job. Highly recommend if you want to grind your own grains

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great for mixing dry food items. This was purchased to mix dry grains when needed. The first food item I made was peanut butter using peanuts only. It mixed the peanuts into a nice smooth blend. The peanut butter was used by our grandchildren who found it delicious without any additives.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It works enough, but I am not impressed. The actual blend variance of fine to rough blend is not as varied a range as I would use. And if I want to blend up a bag of grains to store prepared to use as needed in my baking day, this is not possible as it heats up so high. So the blending of a bag of grain is slow. No more than two cups at a time. With waiting for cooling after two blends. As well the machine menu does not match the guide suggestion in the publication with instructions & recipes. It works enough, but I am not impressed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for grains! I actually have a very nice grain mill. It does a fantastic job when I want to grind large batches of grain. I purchased this for those times that I just wanted to do a small batch. It's perfect for grains that I don't keep a lot of. It won't grind it to the consistency of my larger mill but it gets it pretty darn close... close enough that I am still rating this with five stars!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Whole wheat flour & ground flax seeds I bought a Vitamiz 3500 along with the 48 oz Dry Grains Container and have been using it for about 2 weeks. I have found that grinding flax seeds, for better digestibility, only requires using a speed of 1 or 2 to quickly grind up the seeds. Flour from wheat berries, in contrast, requires much higher speeds. I am starting to experiment with mixing them together prior to blending, which seems to work ok too, making a flour / flax blend. I really enjoy the flavor with the fresh ground flour and I believe the nutritional quality from freshly-ground (i.e. unoxidized) whole wheat is substantially greater. I have made pancakes and waffles so far, but still mix my batters by hand by preference since it has been my lifelong habit for those batters. The consistency of the flour (and batter) is better than I get from my flour mill partially because I have more control with the speed settings on the Vitamix. So far, I really am impressed with how well my Vitamix works.
