Hot Apple Cider
What a tasty treat on that chilly fall day. So easy to make, so fun to share—and it takes only minutes!
Ingredients
- 2 cups (500 ml) water
- 1 apple, seeded, cored, quartered
- 1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 Tablespoon agave nectar
Directions
- Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
- Select Variable 1 or the Hot Soups program (if available).
- Start the machine, slowly increase to the highest speed, and blend for 5 minutes 45 seconds; or start the machine and allow the Hot Soups program to complete.
Notes
Bright IdeaFor a thinner apple cider, just add 2 more cups of water. Adjust the cinnamon and agave to make it the perfect drink for you.

It’s ok
The difficulty level of this recipe is listed as “advanced “. It is extremely easy!
Instead of adding just one apple I used two. Definitely a lot healthier than hot apple cider from the store!

Even Better with Rum
I watched the sales rep at COSTCO prepare this and it tasted great. Went home and prepared a small batch which everyone enjoyed. Later that night I added a small shot of Appleton Estate rum for a great cold weather cocoktail.

Too much cinnamon
Its got too much cinnamon for my liking. To taste more like the cider I'm used to I would add more sugar and use half as much cinnamon. Its also a little gritty, but that's to be expected.
