Works okay with effortI purchased the low-profile tamper for my 48oz low container. I chose to purchase this tamper because the one that came with the container did not reach into the corners of the container. The web site description and design lead me to believe this would be better. The tamper requires extra effort to fit through the container lid, but once it does the slim design at the neck allows it to reach to the corners of the container. However, it does not easier move up/down once it is in the container. Perhaps this tamper was not actually designed for my container as the web-site made me believe....but I'm willing to work with it.

Water InsideSpent $600+ on new G-Series 780 after the motor on my ancient Vitamix began to fail. Last week I removed the tamper from a drawer to make a smoothie and heard water inside the tamper.
I am unable to locate any cracks or openings in the seams, but there is quite a bit of liquid inside the tamper. I can only imagine what might be growing inside and I am completely disgusted.
I checked reviews on-line and this appears to be a problem for others as well. What a shame that what is supposed to be a premium product is outfitted with cheap plastic accessories that could actually be harmful to your health. If liquid can get in, surely it can get out...and contaminate whatever is in the mixer.
Vitamix, you need to do better. This is ridiculous...

My stupid mistake ..but great Vitamix support !For some reason i took the top of the Vitamxi blender and inserted the tamper!! wow...it tore up the bottom of the tamper! so i immediatedly looked to buy a new one...and the customer service at Vitamix provided it quickly and much more cost effectively than Amazon!! Great customer experience!

Low-Profile TamperI bought this to use with my 64 oz & 32 oz low-profile Vitamix containers, but I will probably not use it with the 32 oz because it measures almost 11-1/2" instead of the 9-3/4" shown on the website.

Dissatisfied with this purchaseI purchased my vitamix several years ago, and have been incredibly pleased with it, I use it pretty much every day!
My original tamper ended up with a crack which then turned into a hole where the food I was mixing could get into it. So I reached out to vitamix and purchased a new tamper. The tamper was a reasonable price and was mailed quickly!
When I received the new tamper the plastic was much thinner than my original, and it was slightly longer. I was concerned that it would hit the blade while in use so I had tested it out with the machine off first. Sure enough, the tamper hit the blade without any kind of pressure or force.
I am back to using the old tamper, I just have to be extra careful to wash out all the blended food particles from inside the hole.

Works Great, but…This works great. However, it is made out of a thin hollow plastic. The first one we had, had a hole in the bottom of it.
We purchased it from QVC and they were quick to send us a replacement.
I do think it would work better if it was solid. The company is great and so is the blender!

It Tamps GreatDesigned for, therefore fits the S50 perfectly. I don't need the tamper for most of my blends, but when you need, it you need it. Really helps with soups, especially tomato soup and the like.
Note: Vitamix price was better than Amazon too..

Works well with the Low-Profile Vitamix!I bought this because I accidentally burned a hole in the last one by leaving it too close to the stove burner. This works with the Low-Profile Vitamix, which I really love because it fits under the cabinet on my counter-top. It took me years to decide to finally get a Vitamix and the Low-Profile Vitamix made it an easy choice. So glad I bought one. I use it almost every day at least once a day. In the morning I use it for my Kefir Smoothy and later as an aid in making soup. The Vitamix Customer Service is exceptional too!
