Mexican Hot Chocolate
Real Mexican chocolate blended with milk or water creates a frothy and rich hot chocolate. Perfect for a cold night in!
Ingredients
- 4 cups (960 ml) almond milk [or milk or water]
- 10 ounces (154 g) Mexican chocolate
- ⅛ teaspoon sea salt, optional
Directions
- Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
- Run the Hot Soup Program or start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 5 minutes 45 seconds.
Notes
Garnish with whipped cream (or non-dairy equivalent) and Mexican chocolate shavings! To make this a latte, add 2 teaspoons of instant espresso before blending. Traditional Mexican chocolate does not contain dairy, however some commercial varieties contain milk product. If you're using non-dairy milk for this hot chocolate, make sure the chocolate you use is dairy-free too!
