Smoothie à la betterave, à la pomme et au gingembre
Un smoothie fait de betteraves, de carottes, de pommes, de gingembre et de jus de citron, mélangés à la perfection.
- 1 betterave, coupée en quartiers, cuite à la vapeur
- 1 carotte, coupée en deux
- 1 pomme, épépinée, évidée et coupée en quartiers
- Un morceau de racine de gingembre frais de 3 cm (1 po)
- 15 ml (1 cuillère à soupe) de jus de citron
- 130 g (1 tasse) de cubes de glace
- Mettre tous les ingrédients dans le récipient Vitamix dans l'ordre indiqué, puis verrouiller le couvercle.
- Sélectionner la Variable 1.
- Démarrer l'appareil et augmenter graduellement la vitesse jusqu'à la Variable 10, puis passer à la vitesse élevée.
- Cuire 1 minute ou jusqu'à ce que la consistence souhaitée soit atteinte.

I added silken tofu for a thickener and for a protein component. I also added 2 handfuls of beet greens and 4 clementines. I probably added 1 1/2 the amount of ginger, too. I love ginger. Oh, and I didn't bother to steam the beets, just cut them into 1/4s and put them in. It's a beautiful red color. My smoothies are various shades of green, so it was a pleasant surprise. This smoothies is delicious. I'm glad I made a full blender worth.

After seeing the reviews on this drink, I thought I would give it a try. All I can say is yum and yay!! I have found a way to enjoy beets.

I eventually added apple sauce to get it blended.. taste...ok. i know its healthy so ill go with that. Mind you i took one persons advice and did not steam the beet. Other than that i dont understand where the 5 star review comes from...healthy..yes

Rated 4 out of 5 by sooz from too much unnecessary prep No need to core the apple or peel the carrots or the beets. The great thing about the vitamix is it blends everything. Use cold water too, not just ice.

I'm freezing the extras and hope that it won't defrost too runny. If it does, I have no problem drinking this myself! Will definitely make this again for the rest of the family.
