- 425 g (15 onces) de pois chiches en conserve, rincés et égouttés
- 30 ml (2 cuillères à soupe) de sauce piquante
- 120 ml (½ tasse) de tahini
- 30 ml (2 c. à table) de jus de citron
- 1 gousse d'ail
- 1 cuillère à thé (3 g) de sel (facultatif)
- Mettre tous les ingrédients dans le récipient Vitamix dans l'ordre indiqué, puis verrouiller le couvercle.
- Sélectionner la Variable 1.
- Démarrer l'appareil, puis augmenter graduellement la vitesse jusqu'au maximum.
- Mélanger pendant 1 minute ou jusqu'à obtention d'une consistance onctueuse, en utilisant le pilon pour pousser les ingrédients vers les lames.

Rated 5 out of 5 by pinkballoon from Very smooth hummus This recipe makes a very smooth hummus but I did not use the tamper, I added about a 1/4 cup of water when the ingredients became too thick and then I turned it on high, stopped it once and cleaned down the sides with a small spatula, resumed and it turned out very smooth and delish. Two tablespoons of Frank's hot sauce makes it only mildly spicy which is fine by me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Blending Fool from Came out great! Followed the recipe but used garlic tahini so I left out the garlic clove. Served drizzled with olive oil and a light coating of paprika. A review stated there were no sesame seeds in the recipe, but tahini is a paste from ground sesame seeds and is what is used when making traditional hummus.

While I like hummus, now that I can make it in my Vitamix, I love it! The flavor is so much better than the hummus eaten from the store... no comparsion
