Apple-icious Whole Grain Cereal

Ingrédients

  • ¼ tasse (50 g) de riz brun, non cuit
  • ¼ cup (50 cups) whole wheat kernels
  • ¼ cuillère à thé de sel (facultatif)
  • 1 tasse (240 ml) d'eau
  • ½ tasse (120 ml) de cidre de pomme
  • 1 cuillère à soupe de cannelle moulue
  • ½ medium apple

Instructions

  1. Place rice, wheat and salt, optional into the Vitamix DRY BLADE container and secure lid.
  2. Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to Variable 7. Blend for 15 seconds, using the tamper to push ingredients toward the blades.
  3. Place liquid ingredients and cinnamon into a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Stir in wheat and rice mixture.  Reduce heat to low and simmer covered for 20 minutes.  Add apples and walnuts to the wheat/rice mixture with 5 minutes left in the cooking process.
