Afternoon Cacao & Mint Smoothie

Mint adds bright, refreshing flavour to this chocolatey smoothie, perfect for an afternoon snack.


  • 80 ml (⅓ cup) almond milk
  • 1¾ Tablespoon cacao powder
  • 1 Tablespoon almond butter, raw
  • 4 dates, pitted
  • 120 ml (½ cup) water
  • 10 other mint leaves
  • 150 g (1 ) frozen banana, halved
  • 35 g (¼ cup) ice cubes
  • 1 Tablespoon cacao nibs, (optional)


  1. Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid. Select Variable 1.
  2. Start the blender and increase to its highest speed.
  3. Blend for 45 seconds using the tamper to push ingredients into the blades.


This is the perfect recipe to use with freshly-made Vitamix almond butter and milk. This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled in the 64-ounce container. Add more greens to this smoothie to give an extra boost of nutrition.
