Hot Chocolate
Perfect on a cold, wintry day, this hot chocolate recipe only requires two simple ingredients, making it an irresistible beverage just waiting to be sipped.
Ingredients
- 480 ml (2 cups) skimmed milk
- 90 g (½ cup) plain chocolate (50% cocoa)
Directions
- Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
- Select the lowest setting. Start the machine, slowly increase to its highest speed, and run for 6 minutes.
Notes
Since the Aer™ container heats ingredients through friction like our blade containers, it will melt the chocolate as it heats the milk, then blend the two together. Optional add-ins: ⅛ teaspoon orange extract, ⅛ teaspoon coconut extract, ⅛ teaspoon vanilla extract, or ⅛ teaspoon peppermint extract.

Mexican hot chocolate
Cayenne and cinnamon can be added to make Mexican hot chocolate. Masala Chai spices like clove, cardamom, fresh ginger, and cloves can also be added. Most US chocolate that is not fair trade, Utz, or organic certified is harvested with child and teen slave labor, so be careful of your sources. Grass-fed and organic milk has anti-inflammatory ,compounds in the fat, including Omega 3's AND helps metabolize the calcium, so you may wish to consider low-fat or whole milk, instead of skim. For an even more healthful drink you can use unsweetened chocolate and raw wildflower honey...Be careful where the honey is from, as well. Local is best.

Looks delicious
This looks great! Can I also make this in my regular vitamix or does it only work in an Aer disc container?

Amazing hot chocolate
This is my first time using my new Aer disc conainer and this recipe was so easy and taste amazing. My daughter said, “This sure beats those packets where you just add water” The foam on top gave it a coffee shop feel.

Frothy Chocolatety Goodness!
Yum yum yum!!! We used dark chocolate chips (60%) and 1% milk in the 64 oz. low profile container. (We don't have the Aer Disc Container.) It was frothy and tastes natural. My 83 year old mom said it made her day complete. :D

The BEST hot chocolate
I was given the AER for my Vitamix. It came with this recipe for hot chocolate. I made it with skim milk and the chocolate chips, it was delicious. When it was done it was the perfect drinking temperature. A real hit with my husband and kids!

Frothy fun
Today was my first day using the vitamix machine. This recipe was easy and delicious! The froth on top was fun for my kids (4, 5 and 7) and added a nice texture and taste for me.

Yum!
I made this tonight in my regular Vitamix 64 container. It was delicious! 6 Minutes and done. I used dark chocolate and it was almost too much chocolate. Might try it with milk chocolate next time.

Easiest Homemade Hot Chocolate Ever!
I made this with the directed ingredients but in my 64 oz. container. (Waiting for the aer disk to come in:D) I just used the Hot Soup setting and I think that's somewhere between 5-6 minutes. Came out perfectly!!! Next time I think I will try some of the recommended flavorings.
