Rice Milk
Turn cooked brown rice and a touch of brown sugar into a delicious, dairy-free milk.
Ingredients
- 4 cups (960 ml) water
- 1 cup (200 g) brown rice, cooled
- 3 dates, pitted
Directions
- Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure lid.
- Select Variable 1.
- Turn machine on and slowly increase speed to Variable 10, then to High.
- Blend for 2-3 minutes or until desired consistency is reached. Store in refrigerator. Shake well before using.

Rice Milk
I was looking for a recipe that was easy and quick. This recipe met both of those requirements. I added a cinnamon stick to the rice while it was cooking and ground it with the rice after it cooled. It is just as good as the Horchata (rice milk) I get at the local mexican restaurant. I would definitely make this again.

ratios here are different than in my Vitamix book
I've made this in the past and it's easy and great. However, I see here that the recipe ratios are different than what I've used, and which were shown in my Vitamix book from like 10 years ago.
My recipe called for 2 cups water and just 1/2 cup cooked brown rice (or 1/4 cup brown rice BEFORE it is cooked and fluffs up). When I made it this way, it came out very good. I assume this newer recipe and ratios, as shown here, make the milk thicker...

I get so frustrated how much commercial gluten-free and dairy-free products cost. By making this is my Vitamix I save 99%. So easy and tastes great.

Tastes great, but I had to strain it first
My first time making this I didn't strain it and it was very gritty. I just made my second batch this time making sure to strain it and this is the best milk I've had.

The recipe is good as a basic recipe. But atting 1t. Vanilla aroma and a pinch of salt makes it even better and the flavor shine. Try it also with some additional cinnamon, mmm good!

It's thick!
I made this recipe and it came out thicker than I expected. I ended up adding a little bit more water and a half a cinnamon stick for more flavor. I'll definitely make this again.

Wording Error!!!
Your recipe calls for 1 cup of Brown Rice cooked
WRONG!!!
It should read 1 Cup of cooked Brown Rice.
Am I right?
I ended up with a gooey mess and a Vitamix that nearly seized up!
