Cheap and authentic!
Here's a way to put your high priced Vitamix to quick and money saving good use.
Instead of buying Sabra Hummus, I prepared this recipe several times using a variety of herbs from my garden. The result? Delectable and authentic humus that makes all supermarket refrigerated hummus products pale!

Very smooth hummus
This recipe makes a very smooth hummus but I did not use the tamper, I added about a 1/4 cup of water when the ingredients became too thick and then I turned it on high, stopped it once and cleaned down the sides with a small spatula, resumed and it turned out very smooth and delish. Two tablespoons of Frank's hot sauce makes it only mildly spicy which is fine by me.

Came out great!
Followed the recipe but used garlic tahini so I left out the garlic clove.
Served drizzled with olive oil and a light coating of paprika.
A review stated there were no sesame seeds in the recipe, but tahini is a paste from ground sesame seeds and is what is used when making traditional hummus.

This Vitamix doesn't disappoint! I inherited my grandmother's and am finding many ways to use this than she would ever imagine, this hummus is one of them. While I like hummus, now that I can make it in my Vitamix, I love it! The flavor is so much better than the hummus eaten from the store... no comparsion
