Blending Bowl Starter Kit is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 87.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Better in theory than in practice These bowls function as described. I have a brand new Ascent 3500 and have not had any trouble getting the blender to recognize the containers. A small container is exactly what I wanted—the problem is they are too small. The 1 cup size is perfect in theory, but in practice your yield for 1 cup of ingredients is often barely a half cup, maybe even less. A 16 oz container to yield 1 cup finished would probably be perfect. I know there is the 20 oz smoothie cup, but I don’t want a nut butter down in the narrow part of that container. Hopefully Vitamix will make a larger small-cup option. If so, I’ll be first in line to buy!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bad design I am very happy with my ascent 3500, and thought these small bowls would be the perfect accessory for making pestos and dips, and then be able to store them easily in the same container. The system works well as far as the blending goes, but for storage it is a disaster and unsanitary. Having the bowls threaded on the inside, and having the lid fit inside it, makes it very difficult to not have food trapped in the threads. It's also very hard to clean the threads once food is in the container. While the bowls are aesthetically interesting, on practical terms they are kind of a failure. There's a reason jars and lids fit the way they do. Don't reinvent the wheel.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed I eagerly awaited the delayed release of the small blender bowls for the Ascent series. After only 2 uses, my model 3300 no longer senses the first bowl. I have not yet tried the second bowl. I will be calling Vitamix and I'm confident they will make good but I should not have to do that. These accessories are overpriced to begin with and should work for more than a few minutes. On another note, I agree that the new accessories should be retrofitted to the older, terrific machines. I have a personal blender with a 20 oz cup but cannot use it with my 3300. What a waste of money to be forced to buy a second blade assembly and 2 more blender cups! No wonder loyal Vitamix consumers complain!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from IN THE SAME BOAT I purchased a Professional 500 series blender because it is designed for smaller batches, but still disappointed as I mostly blend less than a cup at a time and have to stop and scrape, stop and scrape and it doesn't always get the consistency I want. Went through the same thing as this other lady did. Couldn't return, etc. I just want to be heard that I also want to be able to have these small size blending bowls available for my machine also. Would love to know if that's going to happen or not. Other than that I'm very happy with my Vitamix. I just hope, that those of us who purchased prior to the new models will also be able to have this available to us. For me it would affect up to 85% of my use of my Vitamix!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Will not recognize the blade base I purchased this through WS along with my A3500. This blade base has yet to be detected through the "Self Detect" technology. I replaced it through Williams Sonoma and the second set arrived and also same issue. My A3500 will not detect it at all. I know my A3500 is working as it detects all my other accessories flawlessly. I think this blade base has some design flaw. 0 and 2 so far. I have an email into the Service Dept. will wait to see what they say.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the smaller bowls I have an older Vitamix but I purchased the new Ascent Blender just to have the option for the different bowl/container sizes. I really felt this was missing on the older blenders so I am happy to see it is now available. I see a lot of 1 star reviews and I don't think they are valid since it is not a reflection of the quality and function of the product itself, but rather a disappointment the technology does not work with all Vitamix blenders.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Blending bowls and cups Less then a year a go I purchased my 780 Vitamix. The one thing that has being missing is the small size blending bowls and cups. I have being looking for such attachments on the Vitamix website ever since my purchase. Imagine my elation when I learned about the new attachments from an email. Unfortunately my happiness was short lived, as these bowls will only work with the new Ascent Series of blenders. The trade in policy is not feasible. I have not had my blender for even a year (more like 9 months). A small credit will not cover the $750+tax that I just spend, to purchase the A3500 model ($650), so that I can have the convenience of purchasing the blending bowls and cups. PLEASE make these attachment available for previous models!!! I would love to have an option to make small batches of different favors of smoothie for my kids and blend tiny amounts of herbs for cooking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for small amounts I used my small blending bowl to grind quinoa into powder and also made peanut butter. These are great for small jobs. The arrows for aligning the blade base with the bowl are nearly invisible. The bowl syncs reliably with my A2300 blender. If not, then I power off then on and the small bowl is detected. Works well. Happy I bought this set. Also self-cleaning the bowl with water and a drop of liquid soap worked well as long as I kept the speed low.
