Fresh apples, yogurt and apple pie spice make this smoothie a low-calorie indulgence. Garnish with a sprinkling of cinnamon.

Apple Pie Spice

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon ground cardamom

Directions

  1. For the apple pie spice, add all the ingredients in the order shown in the Vitamix container and mix until mixture is combined. Store in a small, air-tight container.

Apple Pie Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1½ apples, seeded, cored, quartered
  • ¾ cup (180 ml) low fat vanilla yogurt
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon apple pie spice
  • 1 cup (130 g) ice cubes

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure lid.
  2. Select Variable 1.
  3. Turn machine on and slowly increase speed to Variable 10, then to High.
  4. Blend for 1 minute or until desired consistency is reached.
