Two Blending Containers
The S-Series offers two container sizes—a 20-ounce that becomes an instant travel cup with flip-top lid and a 40-ounce for small batches of soups, sauces, frozen desserts, and more.

The Variable Speed Control lets you fine-tune every texture—from smooth purées to chunky salsas—and everything in between.
With the Pulse feature, layer coarse chops over smooth purées for heartier recipes, such as chunky salsas or thick vegetable soups.

Use every day! Great Appliance!
I bought this about a month ago. Our nutritionist at work has been providing healthy recipes and uses a Vitamix for some of the recipes. She said that you could buy a reconditioned appliance and I looked into it. I decided to purchase because I love to cook and thought I would get a lot of use out of it. I make smoothies almost every day and a frozen matcha ginger lemon tea to drink on my way to work. I have made homemade almond and coconut milk and raw marinara sauce that was amazing. I make a butternut squash soup and use the Vitamix to puree. The possibilities are endless and I am glad I made this purchase. It has been well worth it.

The s30 is my second vitamix I also have the 5200. I purchased the s30 to take away with me and to make to go smoothies. There were some scratches on my original s30 I contacted Vitamix and they immediately arranged a new one to be sent out to me and arranged pick up of the damaged one. My new one arrived in 2 days in great condition. I personally would not buy anything but Vitamix and would highly recommend their product. The s30 is less powerful than the 5200 but it's also a smaller footprint. I let the smoothies blend a little longer in the s30 and they come out smooth. I have also made nut butter in the s30 and that also came out smooth.

Better than sliced bread
My wife's been ill for some time and stopped eating solid food 4 months ago.
It looked like I was going to loose her. With the doctors insistance that she consume 2000 calories per day, I bought the S-30.
Using the enclosed recipe book I went to work creating healthy drinks that she could manage and not fight me.
I've been making 3 - 4 health smoothies per day for the last 3 1/2 months.
Her doctors were amazed at her recovery.
She consumes some solid food again, but insists on a breakfast smoothy and a vegtable smoothy for lunch.
Our friends have marveled at her recovery and have come over to taste my creations. They were sold and each purchased a machine.

Not Enough Power
I liked the idea of a smaller profile machine to process single serving portions so I purchased the S Model. Smoothies did not fully blend, i.e. small pieces of ice and fruit would be left in the mix. Upon further research I found out that the S Series has a smaller motor. Vitamix claims that you can achieve the same results as the larger machines by simply increasing the run time. I did not find this to be the case.
I returned the unit and purchased a C Series, Model VM0103. The unit has performed great so far!!
The Classic series still allows the processing of smaller batches. Note: The newer G Series, although smaller in height has a wider base and requires larger amounts for processing.

The S30 is a great machine, and my quality of living has improved due to its presence in my life! I purchased it using the payment plan. Thank you ,Vitamix, for offering this, I would not have been able to purchase it otherwise! What can I say? It is the perfect size for a household of 3. Everyday I make a green drink with parsley, lemon, ginger, etc... and it is EASY, and therefore I feel my health is greatly improved. Just that would be enough for me to highly recommend this blender! BUT! We use it at least once, if not several times a day. It feels powerful (it is!), and it looks good on the counter. We LOVE it!!!!

Vitamix S30 - WOW!
For starters, I own the professional series Vitamix but when my wife wanted to buy one of those other brand blenders to make health shakes, I said "no way" since I knew they wouldn't last. After a lot of research, I decided to purchase a refurbished S30 (it was a little less expensive and provided the same warranty) and when a refurbished one was not available, Vitamix sent me a brand new one for the cost of a refurbished one. All I can say is what great customer service. I wish other companies would follow suit for things like that. I did not expect it and offered to pay the full price when I spoke with the customer support person.
My wife loves this blender and it really is a quality piece!

I presently own a Vitamix Clasic C Series Blender and love it. I brought the S Series for a winter home based on my experience with the C Series and its compact size. What a disappointment. When using it on high speeds it vibrates so much it moves along the countertop. The cleanup it's not as easy as the C-Series. The container, the seal and blade have to be separated in order to clean. I notice an electrical burning odor when the motor is running on high for less than a minute. It does blend good. I would definitely buy another Vitamix, I just would not buy or recommend the S Series.

Container needs to be redesigned
Although this is a Vitamix there is an issue with their containers. Have you ever tried to wash one by hand? Unless you have hands the size of a 4 y/o it isn't going to happen. If you buy this, make sure you buy a brush to wash it out as well. You WILL NOT get your hand inside to be able to turn a sponge at the bottom. Another issue is the 2 inside ridges in the container cause 4 corner pockets at the bottom of the ridges and again, impossible to get your hand and a sponge in to clean. Unless you want to use the dishwasher to wash the containers every time, buy the brush right from the beginning.
