Chocolate Shake
Create some great milkshake memories at home. (For a non-dairy alternative, use soy milk and soy ice cream.)
Ingredients
- ⅓ cup (80 ml) low fat milk
- ¼ cup (60 ml) chocolate sauce, or cocoa powder
- 1 cup (230 g) vanilla ice cream, or Ice Cream
- 1 cup (130 g) ice cubes
Directions
Chef's Notes
As a non-dairy alternative, use soy milk and soy ice cream. For recipe variation, add 2 tablespoons (37 g) malted milk powder for a Chocolate Malt. This recipe can easily be doubled in the 64 oz. containers. Optionally, use 2 cups of ice cream instead of ice.
Substitutions
Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure lid. Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 30-45 seconds or until consistency is smooth, using the tamper to push ingredients into the blades.

Excellent recipe and great results.
Vitamix creates another masterpiece. My son has even learned how to use it.

Hard to drink just one!
Be sure to use your tamper to make sure all the ice gets crushed. Don't worry if you have to blend for close to two minutes it will still be cold. I found the ratio of chocolate syrup to other ingredients just right but some will want to add a bit more for richer flavor.

Watered down
This recipe doesn't have enough liquid to have the vitamin run smoothly, and then the addition of ice makes it taste like chocolate water. More milk, less ice.

Chocolate Perfection
I used chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla. I also ran the Vitamix less than a minute so the shake was extra thick.

Too sweet...
Way too much chocolate sauce. I use chocolate ice cream for a much better tasting, less sweet, shake.

Nommm
I had to use more ice cream and milk. I used coconut chocolate ice cream and chocolate almond milk, and then I added a couple spoonfuls of peanut butter and a half banana. Soooo good!
