Rated 1 out of 5 by Sneadly from Blew a hole in the carafe I’ve owned my Vitamix over 10 years, so the plastic is getting crunchy, I guess. Cut the parm into half-inch blocks, powered it up in the VM, next thing I know grated cheese is shooting out the side of the carafe. New carafe: $150. Can I buy it without the lid and the tamper and save some money?

Rated 5 out of 5 by mush from Great grating I like grating my block parm instead of buying it grated...less salt i think. I cut it into chunks and go to speed 5, using the tamper helps. Right at the end I go to 6 for about 2 seconds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Pauli from Grated parmasen cheese I grate a lot of cheese. This is the best way to get healthy by grating your own. The cheese was fluffy and not gummy or in chunks
