5300 is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 1180.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hands down, best blender I did a thorough review of top-rated blenders on CNET, watched videos on youtube and HSN, researched features/specifications of various models, and even bought some blenders or used blenders owned by friends to compare. After weighing everything, I felt that the quality of the the Vitamix far outweighed the expense--and, I'm a cheap person!! I never buy top-of-the-line products (but willing to pay a lot for good food). In the two months that I have owned the Vitamix, I have used it twice a day and have already saved more than I paid for it! I'm also getting healthier ;) Trust this geek: CNET reviewers were wrong, because nothing else comes close in comparison.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love vitamix I am an avid smoothie maker so I've always tried to buy good blenders. I used the creations II for the past 5 years and only replaced that one because I leave on my counter and wanted a new color after moving to a new house. I decided on this one because it was such a good deal. It's pretty similar to my previous model which made switching easy. The only negative is the wider base of the pitcher. It does seem to make getting the blending process started a little more troublesome that before. Once it's going it blends as usual. Not a deal breaker for me but something worth mentioning. Overall I still love this blender.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Power Tools! This Reconditioned 5300 has been a great addition to my set of power tools when I need to make saw dust or . . . . oh, wait wrong tool. As I have only had it for a couple of months the power of the device still confuses me. We have made soup, pizza dough (in the wet container), and different soups. But, smoothies are the thing! I have even started to add in Chia and Flax seeds. I was one of those people who had to try other brands before buying the 5300, and I am glad I finally did it. It is really easy to use - lots of advice on-line, everything comes out fully ground up, and just as they say, clean up is a snap!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A little less than I expected :/ The Reconditioned 5300 delivers on power to be expected, but it has a tenancy to overheat much sooner than I would expect. I am happy with the product overall, but I cannot help but wonder if my Vitamix overheats more quickly due to being reconditioned. I also wish there was more "real life" in depth description online regarding the functional difference between the tall and short 64 oz containers. I am finding that the "under the cabinets" short 64 oz container doesn't handle butters and ice creams as well due to the wide base. It also doesn't handle smoothies, hummus, etc under 4 cups portions either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dense Nutrition Made Possible I bought the Vitamix over a month ago in anticipation of feeding my daughter calorically and nutritionally dense whole food smoothies through her G-Tube. Usually people with G-Tubes are relegated to consuming canned "shakes" made in a lab. The Vitamix allows me to liquefy whole foods to give my daughter the best nutrition possible. I am very pleased with how smooth the smoothies are and how easily they go through her tube. i am also very pleased with the price and the warranty of the certified reconditioned mixer. I am also pleased with the ease of cleaning the carafe after using.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Life changing This is the first Vitamix blender that I have owned and I am completely satisfied. I have no complaints. I store the blender right on the counter top. It fits perfectly below my upper cabinets. It cleans up easily as long as you rinse it immediately after use and don't leave food in the pitcher to dry. The power that you get from the motor is outstanding. Nothing seems to be too much for it. We have used it for smoothies only so far but I am excited to try to make soups and nut milks as well. I have replaced my morning fast food stop with a green smoothie because of the 5300. I am a Vitamixer for life.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I wouldn't recommend this particular model I owned a 5200 overseas (220 volt) model that convinced me that Vitamix was the way to go. I loved everything about it except that it didn't fit under my cabinets. So i bought this unit ....it fits now, but the "hydrology" ...namely the ability to achieve a vortex in the bowl sufficient to mix evenly is clearly inferior to the 5200 even with the more powerful motor. I see why now the original one had the high, narrow vessel. Anyway, I wouldn't reccomend this one and I"m sort of surprised that Vitamix hasn't rectified this as i see it's a widely observed critique. If i had it to do over, i would certainly go for the 5200 which is a great machine. This one is so so and not much better than the average blender.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Confused I purchased the 5300 series mixer at Costco a week ago and have been trying to uncover a few specification discrepancies. The web site advertises a 12 amp, 2.2 hp motor with a 3" cutting blade. The provided manual notes an 11.5 amp, 2.1 hp motor. The information sticker on the back of the base notes an 11.5 amp, 2.3 hp motor. The blade in the unit measures 4", unlike the web page indicates. So, which of these is it, I'm very confused and it appears that Vitamix is as well. Someone please help? Please note, the only reason I docked it a star was due to the confusion in the specs.
