Matcha Latte
This simple blended pick-me-up makes a smooth, creamy, and frothy latte without the need for a matcha whisk or milk frother!
Ingredients
- 2 cups (600 ml) oat milk [or milk of choice or water]
- 1 Tablespoon matcha green tea powder
- 2 Tablespoons (30 ml) honey [or sweetener of choice], optional
Directions
- Place oat milk into the Vitamix container and secure the lid.
- Run the Hot Soup Program or start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 7 minutes 30 seconds.
- Remove the lid and add the matcha and honey (if using). Secure the lid and start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 10 seconds.
Notes
The delicate flavor, color, and nutrient content of matcha powder is destroyed at temperatures above 175°F (80°C). Using the Hot Soup setting, this recipe typically yields a latte at around 160 - 175°F (70 - 80°C), however results vary based on initial ingredient temperature. Use a thermometer after heating the milk to ensure it is below 175°F (80°C) before adding matcha. If it is too hot, allow to cool for a few minutes before adding matcha. Matcha is rich in antioxidants and it provides a gentle caffeine boost. You can easily substitute any milk of choice and adjust the sweetener to your liking, making it completely customizable.
