Sichuan Chili Sauce

You can easily prepare this restaurant-quality Sichuan chili sauce at home in just a short amount of time

Ingredients

  • 80 ml (⅓ cup) rice wine vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 20 ml (1⅓ Tablespoon) soy sauce
  • 15 ml (1 Tablespoon) sesame oil
  • 50 g (1/2 cups) red pepper powder
  • 80 milliliters tomato sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 10 g (1 Tablespoon) fresh ginger root
  • 15 g (1⅓ Tablespoon) garlic
  • 60 ml (¼ cup) hot water

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the blade base.
  2. Start the machine and increase to Variable 5 for 10 seconds. Increase speed to Variable 10 and blend for 20-30 seconds until smooth.
