Cacao Rub

Use as a steak seasoning for a unique flavor experience.


  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 55 g (¼ cup) light brown sugar, packed
  • 35 g (2 Tablespoons) sea salt
  • 45 g (4 Tablespoons) cacao nibs
  • 4 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2½ teaspoon whole cumin seeds, toasted
  • 6 whole allspice


  1. Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure lid.
  2. Select Variable 1.
  3. Turn machine on and slowly increase speed to Variable 5.
  4. Blend for 15 to 20 seconds, using the tamper to press the ingredients into the blades.

Leave somewhat coarse, but blended.
