Ingredients
- 1 cups (200 g) fresh blueberries
- 3 Tablespoons (40 g) chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
- 2 Tablespoons (30 ml) maple syrup
- 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Directions
- Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the blade base.
- Run the Dips & Spreads Program or start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 60 seconds.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months. Blueberries are naturally high in pectin, and when combined with the sugar and acid (vinegar) in this recipe, they can quickly turn from a liquid to a jelly-like consistency. Simply whisk together or re-blend if it has thickened. Store-bought BBQ sauces are often high in added sugar and sodium. This recipe is thoughtfully balanced to deliver bold, rich flavor while keeping both in check—containing just 40mg sodium and 3g of added sugar per serving. Adjust spice level by adding more (or less) chipotles in adobo.
