Sichuan Chili Sauce

You can easily prepare this restaurant-quality Sichuan chili sauce at home in just a short amount of time

Ingredients

  • 160 ml (⅔ cup) rice wine vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons sweet soy sauce
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 45 ml (2 Tablespoons) soy sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons sesame oil
  • 100 g (1 cup) hot pepper powder
  • 160 ml (⅔ cup) tomato sauce
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt, optional
  • 20 g (2 pieces) fresh ginger root, ¼ inch thick
  • 30 g (6 ) roasted garlic
  • 120 ml (½ cup) hot water

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
  2. Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed, Blend for 30 - 45 seconds.
