Spicy Bloody Mary Base

Balancing sweet, spicy, savory, and sour can make this your ultimate Bloody Mary. To balance, taste the mix and decide what is missing. If you want it spicier or sweeter, just add the appropriate ingredient, blend, and taste again.

Ingredients

  • 240 ml (1 cup) vegetable stock, or water
  • 794 g (1-28 ounces) can whole peeled tomatoes
  • 25 g (2 ) celery stalk
  • 70 g (1 ) medium carrot
  • (1 garlic) clove, peeled
  • 60 ml (¼ cup) malt vinegar
  • 60 g (6 ) pepperoncini
  • (2 Tablespoons) molasses
  • (2 teaspoons) chili powder
  • (2 Tablespoons) fresh horseradish, or prepared horseradish

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure lid.
  2. Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed.
  3. Blend for 45 seconds; or select the Smoothie program and allow the machine to complete programmed cycle, using the tamper to press ingredients toward the blades.
