Hibiscus Banana Nice Cream

Enjoy a creamy, sweet, zero-waste dessert that pulverizes whole tea leaves and frozen fruit to make a delicious and unique treat.

Ingredients

  • 9 g (2 Tablespoons) loose-leaf hibiscus tea
  • 125 ml (½ cup) hot water, for tea brewing
  • 125 ml (½ cup) Almond Milk
  • 227 g (½ pound) frozen strawberries
  • 227 g (½ pound) sliced frozen bananas

Directions

  1. Add the tea to the hot water and allow to steep for desired time, then place into refrigerator until well chilled.
  2. Place the tea, leaves and all, into the Vitamix container along with the almond milk and secure the lid.
  3. Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 20 seconds.
  4. Stop the machine. Remove lid and add the frozen ingredients, then secure lid.
  5. Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed, using the tamper to press ingredients toward the blades. In about 30-45 seconds, the sound of the motor will change and four mounds should form. Stop the machine. Do not over mix or melting will occur. Serve immediately.
