Marinara Sauce [Food Processor Attachment]

Try this chunkier-style marinara in the Food Processor over roasted vegetables, chicken, or with our Spinach Pasta Dough.


  • 1 medium (230 g) yellow onion, peeled, quartered
  • 4 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 3 Tablespoons (45 ml) extra virgin olive oil, optional
  • 2 cans (795 g) whole peeled plum tomatoes, with juice
  • ½ cup (16 g) fresh basil leaves, packed
  • 3 sprigs fresh oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt, optional
  • 1 Tablespoon honey, optional
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes


  1. Fit the Food Processor with the Multi-Use Blade.
  2. Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.   Start the machine and process for 30 seconds.
  3. Move the chopped product to a medium-sized pot over medium-low heat. Simmer for 35-45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Reserve for use.
