Vitamix blenders offer the finest in quality and durability. These four ways to care for your Vitamix machine will help ensure it easily withstands even the highest volume of use for years to come.
Careful Cleaning
Never let foods dry in your Vitamix containers between uses. This is especially important when making dense or sticky foods such as nut butters. Rinse the container of your Vitamix immediately after every use to help avoid clogging or damaging the container or blade.
To clean, fill the container halfway with warm water, add a drop of dish soap, and secure the lid. Start the machine and slowly increase to its highest speed. Run for 60 seconds and rinse with warm water.
Loading the Container
Add ingredients to the container in the order they’re listed in the Vitamix recipe to ensure the fastest, smoothest blends. As a rule of thumb, add liquids first, followed by dry goods, leafy greens, fruits and vegetables, and ice and frozen foods last. To see how to load ingredients specific to the S-Series machines, see A Quick Guide to the Perfect Blend.
Proper Ventilation
Every Vitamix machine is engineered with a cooling fan to prevent the motor from overheating. When your machine is in use, make sure there is some space around the blender base to allow the air to flow.
Precise Troubleshooting
Every once in a while even the most perfectly engineered machine will develop a hiccup. If your Vitamix blender begins making an unfamiliar noise, fails to perform up to its usual excellence or simply feels different during use, consult your Owner’s Manual. All manuals include a section on troubleshooting that will help you figure out what the problem is, how to fix it and when to call one of our Customer Service Representatives.
