Basil Pesto [Food Processor Attachment]

A simple pesto recipe that is made in just a few minutes in your Food Processor.


  • 90 g (4 cups) fresh basil leaves, lightly packed
  • (4 ) garlic cloves
  • 80 g (½ cup) parmesan cheese [or soy parmesan], cubed
  • 35 g (¼ cup) pine nuts, toasted
  • 180 ml (¾ cup) extra virgin olive oil


  1. Fit the Food Processor with the Multi-Use Blade.
  2. Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
  3. Start the machine and process for 1 minute 30 seconds.

Chef's Notes

  • This basil will not oxidize quickly due to the lack of acidity and the olive oil.Our vegan parmesan cheese recipe is a great substitution to create a non-dairy version.
  • For variations, try adding 1/2 cup of sun-dried tomatoes, pitted green olives, or 1/2 cup combined anchovies & capers.
