Shredded Cheese [Food Processor Attachment]

The Vitamix Food Processor makes shredded cheese a breeze. Simply cut, load, and let the machine do the rest. Create your own unique combination for flatbreads, macaroni and cheese, or Alfredo blend.


  • 225 g (8 ounces) block cheese, (Monterey Jack, cheddar, Swiss, Parmesan, Asiago)


  1. Set up the Food Processor with the Large or Small Shred Disc and secure the lid. Insert the Large Food Chute and remove the Small Food Chute.
  2. Cut block of cheese so it fits into the Small Food Chute opening.
  3. With cheese and Food Pusher in place, start the machine pushing the cheese into the blade to shred the cheese. Repeat until all cheese is shredded.

Chef's Notes

  • Adding a small amount (1/2 tsp.) of cornstarch to cheese after shredding will help it from sticking together. Typically only needed for high-moisture cheeses such as Swiss, mozzarella or Monterey Jack.  It is recommended to use the small food chute to process cheeses.
