Tandoori Spice Blend

Season taco fillings like ground chicken, turkey, or cauliflower with this spice blend inspired by Indian cuisine for a delicious fusion of flavors. Try this blend in salsa, guacamole, or queso, too.

Ingredients

  • 6 Tablespoons (35 g) cumin seeds
  • 4 teaspoons (10 g) coriander seeds
  • 7 green cardamom pods
  • 4 Tablespoons (25 g) sweet paprika
  • 4 Tablespoons (25 g) granulated garlic
  • 1 ½ teaspoons crystallized ginger

Directions

  1. Heat a medium sauté pan over medium heat.  Add cumin, coriander and cardamom to the pan and toast until fragrant, approximately 4 – 6 minutes. Remove from pan and cool.   
  2. Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
  3. Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 30 seconds, or until desired consistency is achieved.
  4. To make 6 chicken tacos:  Mix 1/4 cup spice blend with 1 pound of shredded chicken.   Build your tacos with 6 tortillas, Pico de Gallo, pickled red onions and guacamole
