Affogato
What a tasty treat on that chilly fall day. So easy to make, so fun to share—and it takes only minutes.
Ingredients
- ½ cup Bailey's Irish Cream Liqueur
- 20 frozen whole milk cubes
- ¼ cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 12 ounces hot espresso, divided use
Directions
- Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container, except the hot espresso, in the order listed and secure lid.
- Start the machine on its lowest speed and slowly increase to its highest speed.
- Blend for 30-40 seconds using the tamper to push the ingredients into the blade.
- Portion into 4 coffee mugs and top with hot espresso.
Chef's Notes
Switch out baileys for your favorite liquor.

- 20 frozen whole milk ice cubes
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups (360 ml) espresso, hot, divided use
- 6 (40 g) dates [or alternative sweetener]
Directions
- Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
- Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 30 seconds, using the tamper to push ingredients toward the blades.
- Portion into 4 coffee mugs and top with hot espresso.
Chef's Notes
- Use your favorite liquor in place of Baileys.Making frozen milk cubes gives a rich creamier ice cream base, and is a great alternative to just using ice. To make your cubes pour your choice of milk into ice cube trays and freeze.
