Chili Crisp

This crunchy, spicy topping is the perfect accent to any dish.

Ingredients

Place oil, ginger, bay leaves, star anise, cinnamon, onions, garlic, shallot, and soy beans into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to Variable 8. Blend for 20 to 30 seconds.
Add mixture to a small saucepot set over medium heat. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring frequently, until all ingredients are toasty and aromatic. While the aromatics cook, place the chili flakes in a medium-sized heatproof bowl.
Once ingredients are toasted in the oil, remove from stovetop and carefully pour over the bowl of chili flakes - chilis should bubble up and oil should turn red. Stir ingredients to incorporate evenly and allow to cool before portioning into containers and refrigerating.
