Blending on High

For most recipes, like smoothies, soup, nut butter or anything else you blend until smooth, start on low and quickly ramp up to the highest setting - that could be Variable Speed 10 or the High switch, depending on your model. Blending on high reduces blend time and keeps the motor cool.

Master the Tamper

For thick or frozen blends, use the tamper to move ingredients from the corners toward the blades, and don’t be afraid to use extra pressure when tamping. Vitamix blenders work best when ingredients are pressed down, and the lid will prevent the tamper from touching the blades.

Cover the Blades

Vitamix blenders need a minimum volume of ingredients to blend well. Make sure you use enough ingredients to cover the blades while blending.

Self Cleaning Container

All Vitamix blenders are self-cleaning:

• Add a few drops of dish soap

• Fill halfway with warm water

• Run on high for 30-60 seconds (or run the Clean program)
