Chef Jim Perko uses a Vitamix machine to help people make real and lasting changes in their diets and overall lifestyles.

If you can show people how eating the right foods can make them feel better and have more energy, you can really ignite in them the desire to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

After competing with the 1976 U.S. Culinary Olympic Team and winning medals in numerous other prestigious competitions around the world, Chef Jim Perko, CEC, AAC began his professional life in the hospitality industry, rising to the position of executive chef for a large, upscale hotel. But it wasn’t until 1985, when he shifted his focus to health care, that he found his true passion.

Chef Perko now works in hospital-based wellness education programs where he uses the Vita-Prep 3 to show people how to make healthy foods that taste delicious. He advises participants to avoid thinking about the foods they shouldn’t eat—and instead to focus on the foods they should eat, finding creative and tasty ways to prepare them.

“The Vitamix is a great tool to get people to eat healthier without having a lot of laborious tasks associated with it. I can do numerous recipes with the Vitamix that save a lot of time and produce excellent results,” said Perko.

One of the most satisfying aspects of Perko’s work is seeing participants in his program go on to make real and lasting changes in their diets, improving their health, energy, and sense of vitality. “My focus is on helping people follow a wellness lifestyle, and a Vitamix blender is a great tool to help facilitate that.”
