Blackberry Iced Tea Bramble

Green tea, blackberries, mint, and lime make up the heart of this cocktail. The same recipe—minus the gin—makes a delicious non-alcoholic mocktail. Tonic or ginger beer adds a bit of effervescence.

Blackberry Iced Tea Bramble

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup (180 ml) unsweet green tea, chilled
  • 1 cup (135 g) fresh blackberries
  • 1 slice lime, 1/8", with peel
  • 6 fresh mint leaves
  • 3 Tablespoons (45 ml) honey
  • ⅓ cup (90 ml) London dry gin
  • 1 cup (240 ml) tonic water, divided use

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients except for tonic water into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
  2. Run the Smoothie Program or start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 40-50 seconds, using the tamper to push ingredients toward the blades.
  3. Fill each rocks glass 3/4 of the way with ice. Pour 2/3 cup (160ml) blackberry mixture over ice, topping with 1/3 cup (80ml) tonic water for a cocktail stirring to incorporate.

Chef's Notes

  • To make this drink non-alcoholic, omit the gin and tonic and use 1 1/3 cup of non-alcoholic ginger beer.
