Maple Bourbon Old Fashion

In this new twist on an old classic, maple syrup adds a touch of sweetness to this bourbon cocktail. Impress your holiday guests by serving with a sugar-and-spice rim and fresh orange peel.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces (240 ml) bourbon whiskey
  • 12 dashes Angostura Bitters, or bitters of preference
  • 1 orange, peeled
  • 4 Tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Winter Spice Seasoning, mixed with sugar to rim the glass
  • Ice, in glass
  • orange peel garnish

Directions

  1. Rim glass and fill with ice to the top. Place bourbon, maple syrup, bitters, and orange into Vitamix container.
  2. Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 15 seconds.
  3. Serve over ice and garnish with fresh orange peel.
