Blood Orange Gin Fizz

Ingredients

  • Honey Clove Simple Syrup:
  • 120 ml (½ cup) honey
  • 120 ml (½ cup) water
  • (1 teaspoon) whole cloves, toasted
  • Blood Orange Cocktail:
  • 155 g (1 ) blood orange, halved, sliced into 1/2" pieces
  • 90 ml (3 fl.oz) gin
  • 260 g (2 cups) ice cubes
  • 60 ml (2 fl.oz) prosecco or other sparkling wine

Directions

  1. For the Simple Syrup: Place the honey, water, and toasted cloves into a small sauce pan and simmer for 5 minutes. Chill completely. Save 1 1/2 ounces of syrup for the cocktail and store the rest in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
  2. For the Cocktail: Place blood orange slices, gin, simple syrup, and ice into the Aer® Disc Container and secure the lid.
  3. Run the Muddle Program or start the blender on its lowest speed, then increase to its highest speed.  Blend for 40 seconds, using the tamper to push ingredients toward the blades.
  4. Strain into two chilled 7 oz. cocktail glasses. Garnish with fresh blood orange.

Chef's Notes

  • For the honey clove simple syrup: keep the cloves in the syrup as it's stored to keep infusing, or strain to remove cloves before storing, if syrup is flavorful enough.
