Earl Grey Beetroot Latte
A Vitamix has the power to pulverize even the toughest roots. Raw or cooked, it can take a beet and turn it into a delicious whole-food drink, encompassing fresh ingredients and spices to create a unique drinking beverage.
Ingredients
- 720 ml (3 cups) Earl Grey black tea, brewed, chilled
- 70 g (½ cup) raw almonds
- 6 g (1 slice) fresh ginger root, about 1"
- (¼ teaspoon) ground cinnamon
- 150 g (1 cup) chilled, roasted beets, about 1 medium beet
Directions
- Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
- Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed.
- Blend for 5 minutes 45 seconds, or select the Hot Soup program and allow the machine to complete the programmed cycle.
Chef's Notes
For a deeper purple color in this beverage, use red beets, or for a more neutral color, use golden beets. Earl Grey's earthiness goes very well with the flavor of beets, but other liquids may be used if desired.
