Fresh Turmeric Smoothie
This recipe takes hard-to-blend ingredients like raw almonds, pineapple with the core, and root vegetables, pulverizing them into a smooth and creamy beverage.
Ingredients
- 360 ml (1½ cup) water
- 75 g (½ cup) raw almonds
- 130 g (1 ) medium orange, peeled
- 415 g (½ cup) pineapple, peeled, sliced with core, about 3 cups
- 10 g (1 piece ) fresh turmeric, washed
- 10 g (1 ) fresh ginger root, peeled
- 150 g (1 ) large banana, peeled
Directions
- Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
- Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 2 minutes.
Chef's Notes
For a more juice-style smoothie, simply omit the banana. If fresh ginger or turmeric root cannot be found, substitute with 2 teaspoons of dried to replace the fresh.
