Marinara Sauce [Food Processor Attachment]
Try this chunkier-style marinara in the Food Processor over roasted vegetables, chicken, or with our Spinach Pasta Dough.
Ingredients
- 230 g (1 medium) yellow onion, peeled, quartered
- (4 ) garlic cloves, peeled
- 45 ml (3 Tablespoons) extra virgin olive oil, optional
- 795 g (2 cans) whole peeled plum tomatoes, with juice
- 16 g (½ cup) fresh basil leaves, packed
- (3 sprigs) fresh oregano
- (1 teaspoon) salt, optional
- (1 Tablespoon) honey, optional
- (½ teaspoon) red pepper flakes
Directions
- Fit the Food Processor with the Multi-Use Blade.
- Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid. Start the machine and process for 30 seconds.
- Move the chopped product to a medium-sized pot over medium-low heat. Simmer for 35-45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Reserve for use.
