CLEVELAND, OH (December 2024)— Vitamix, the 104-year-old brand that has defined high-performance blending for decades, is pleased to announce its donation of 5,000 blenders to twelve nonprofit organizations and health institutions across the United States. This generous contribution will support efforts to increase access to whole food nutrition, empower healthier eating habits, and enhance wellness programs in communities nationwide.
The blenders will be distributed to a variety of organizations dedicated to improving health outcomes, including those serving local populations in Cleveland, Ohio as well as national initiatives that promote smart eating and nutrition education. Recipient organizations were selected based on their demonstrated commitment to whole-food nutrition initiatives, healthy eating, and food is medicine programming.
One of the recipients, the Teaching Kitchen Collaborative distributed 200 blenders to their member organizations. One of those member groups, Groundwork Center for Resilient Communities, is leveraging the donations to launch a culinary nutrition program for areas in need surrounding Michigan. The group is helping participants learn the joys of making whole-food dishes using locally sourced ingredients.
Another donation recipient, the Hand, Heart, and Soul Project, has provided the donated machines to those in the community that are committed to improving their own health and wellness throughout Atlanta, Georgia. They have partnered with local chefs to provide culinary demonstrations to community members and used the blenders as incentives to complete a 4-week fitness challenge encouraging community members to build healthy, sustainable habits.
More locally, the Saint Luke’s Foundation distributed the machines to 29 local nonprofits in the Greater Cleveland region. These placements cover a diverse range of organizations including community centers, community coffeehouses, wellness programs, social service agencies, and community development corporations. These initiatives collectively enhance community health by improving access to nutritious foods and educating residents on healthier living.
